Meet the Artist Behind CeyhilArt
I am Hilal Ceyhan, a Turkish artist and the founder of CeyhilArt studio in the Netherlands. My journey began in the world of software engineering, where creativity existed within the lines of code and structured systems. After 16 years being a software engineer, I realized I was looking for a more hands-on and expressive path; one that allowed me to connect more deeply with the emotion, creativity, and people.
In a bold and vulnerable transformation, I traded my keyboard for canvas and brushes — and I haven't looked back since.
Today, my passion lies in bringing people together through painting. Whether it's through workshops, inspiring events, or shared creative experiences, I love encouraging others to discover their own artistic voice and fostering those special connections that art can create.
That is why I opened CeyhilArt Studio in April 2025 — to create a cozy and inspiring space where people can slow down, explore their creativity freely, and experience the joy of creating together.

What Inspires Me?
I don’t start with a clear idea in mind.
I start with a feeling, a movement, a texture.
My process is intuitive — layering, scraping, experimenting, and letting the painting evolve naturally. Sometimes I get stuck in my thoughts, and when that happens, I need to move, dance, or do something unexpected to reconnect with feeling again.
I’m always exploring new materials, textures, and painting styles. I don’t enjoy staying in one direction because every piece asks for something different. Some works become soft and minimal, while others grow bold, expressive, and heavily textured.
Often, it’s only after finishing a painting that I recognise something familiar within it — a mood, memory, or emotion that may have been quietly guiding the process all along.
